Description
According to 1948 documents from the Bundesministerium, this painting is by Gugel and not Amerling. The letter comments that the frame is merely marked 'Amerling'.
Provenance
The collection of original claimant’s uncle was confiscated from his Vienna apartment and subsequently auctioned off at the Dorotheum, with the exception of five paintings that were removed to the Kloster Quiggen bei Bregenz, Austria.
