Jantzen, Dr. Johannes
About the person
The loss of a collection of approx. 100 bronze works formerly owned by Dr. J. Jantzen is described by Carl Grünwald from Bad Homburg v.d.H in the magazine WELTKUNST XXXV No. 4 of April 15, 1965 from p. 298 with illustrations of 10 outstanding works. The acquisition by Dr. Jantzen took place between ca. 1924 and ca. 1935. The time of loss was 1945. The objects were in a safe of the Dresden Bank which was forcibly opened, according to a verbal communication from the owner to me. There is an exact list of over a hundred items. The whereabouts are presumably Russia, but other former Soviet states are also possible.
