Description
inscribed on the table top: "W. v. Aelst 1651"; on the table top, in front of a black background, on the left, a golden, richly decorated jug and a dice cup, on the right, a black pompadour with rich gold and silver embroidery is placed upside down, so that one can see pieces of gold gliding out of the rose silk lining and falling onto the table. In the right background a leather book cover and in the foreground the blue silk lining of the folded back tablecloth
