Description
The sound plate has the outline of a bell. The moving edge in high relief ends in a flower-shaped tip with a hole for hanging. As decoration, four cloud ornaments surround the sun-shaped stop in high relief. The bronze is heavily pewtered and green patinated.
Provenance
acquired in 1927 by Otto Kümmel for Ginsberg in Peking; 1927 - 1942 Ostasiatica Collection Herbert Ginsberg, Berlin; in 1942 large parts of the Ginsberg Collection in Rotterdam were confiscated by the Sicherheitsdienst (SD); whereabouts unknown
