Description
Ms. Neumann is standing and attired in a purpose velvet coat or wrap around her shoulders. Her hands are gracefully positioned on the back of a small piece of furniture. (However, the correspondence from the BDA describes the painting as depicting a woman
Provenance
Originally belonged to claimant's mother, who left all of her property behind at her apartment at Johannesgasse 22 when she fled Vienna in 1938. The painting was confiscated by the Gestapo and subsequently sold at the Dorotheum on June 8, 1942 [Nr. 1505]. Ernst Winkler (better known as Goldfüllfederkönig), who resided at Michaelerplatz 6, Wien I, purchased the painting at the sale.
