Provenance
The portrait was originally in the Château de Manerbe (Calvados, France). The castle was looted by German troops on 1940/41; […]; The portrait was supposed destroyed during the war and the looting of the Château de Manerbe, but has been seen on sale by Tajan auction house on 19 November 1999, lot 159, and 07 April 2000, lot 167 - titled and dated and date "Portrait présumé d'une princesse dela famille Royale belge, 1912" (Presumed portrait of a princess from the Belgian royal family, 1912).
