Signature lower right: L. Asher; the black-and-white chalk drawing is by Louis Asher and shows the approximately 20-year-old Elisabeth Schöne, née Piefke, from Hamburg

Until 20.11.1898 Elisabeth Schöne, Herischdorf/Jelenia Góra-Malinnik, acquired from the artist in Hamburg; 21.11.1898 - 12.01.1906 Paul Albrecht Schöne, Ohlau/Oława, acquired by inheritance from the mother; 13.01.1906 - 06.02. 1946 Dorothee Schöne, Jelenia Góra-Malinnik, acquired by inheritance from father, documented by photograph from 1918; on 6 February 1946, Dorothee Schöne and all other residents were expelled from their house in Herischdorf/Jelenia Góra-Malinnik. The drawing remained in the house [whereabouts unknown], documented by a written report of her expulsion.
