On the back, inscription in a square: "Grenier, par son camarade d'atelier" ("Grenier, by his workshop mate") with the monogram HTL and "Ce portrait est celui de mon mari par Lautrec" ("This portrait is of my husband by Lautrec") signed A. Grenier
