Description
The painting depicts a bay, in the foreground waiting travellers with their luggage sitting between barrels and crates. On the left are travellers with a horse at a fountain. On the right side of the painting the landscape of the bank rises, in the foreground you can see buildings and a tower at the foot of a chain of hills. It is a Mediterranean harbour scene, a theme that Lingelbach had taken up several times in his works.
