Description
Nessus, at a gallop jumping up, holding with both hands the woman, who's lying on his back. She's struggling, the mouth open to call for help and the hands with spread fingers streched wide forward. Bronze, hollow casting, brown patina. Before have been chased. H. without pedastal 39 cm. The model designed by Giovanni da Bologna as counterpart of a group made of marble for the Loggia dei Lanzi in 1599, is supposed to be puchased by Antonio Susini for bronze casting. Vgl.
