Description
A print off the same slab is in the Jewish Museum Prague. Received through Treuhandstelle between 1942 and 1945.
Provenance
Prague / Dusni 10, Prague, 1941
Friedmann, who fled from Berlin to Prague on 27 December 1938 and continued to work as an artist in Prague, was deported to Lodz with his family on 16 October 1941 and his possessions were confiscated beforehand. These included works of art from before 1939, as he was able to bring some works from Berlin to Prague at the beginning of 1939.
After the war, Friedmann missed a total of "around 2000 works" (paintings, prints, drawings); it is not known how many of these works were created in Prague or how many were lost there.
Friedmann signed his works D. Friedmann, Dav. Friedmann or just Friedmann.
