Description
Drinking vessel in the shape of a riding boot with folded shaft and spur. Journeyman's piece by the potter Duwald. Above the instep on the spur a plaque with the inscription: „Wer diesen Stiefel nicht trinken kann, Das ist kein deutscher Mann. Duwald“.
Provenance
Formerly the Luckenwalde Local History Museum (inv no. IV.284). In April 1945, during the battle for the town, the museum building was destroyed and subsequently looted; only a few objects could be salvaged. Presumably lost during the war.
