A precision mechanical locking system for cavalry pistols, originally developed in the 16th century. The clearly designed ‘cock’ gave this functional element its name in later weapon systems as well.
Provenance
Formerly the Guben City Museum. Parts of the collection were apparently evacuated to Kossar (today: Kosierz) in 1942/43. The part of the collection that remained in Guben is said to have been looted between 1945 and 1948 and has been considered lost ever since.
