Description
Oval, plinth rim on 4 feet, upper rim curved in an arcade shape. Masks as handles on the narrow sides. Richly decorated: flowers and peacocks on the outside and inside.
Provenance
Joseph M. Morpurgo Antiquitäten, Amsterdam, purchased from the auction house Mak van Waay, Amsterdam (NL) on 22 May 1939, Hfl. 137.40; withdrawn from the inventory after 16 October 1941 (probably under administrator Jacques Jansen); December 1942, auctioned by Weinmüller, lot 132, buyer: Kupfer; whereabouts unknown.
