The country school

The teacher is sitting at his teacher's desk cutting a quill pen. Left side a girl holding a sheet of paper, left in front a boy. Right, in a corner a sitting girl, two boys behind her, one of them grabing for the teachers cap. In the background a lot of boys at tables and on benches, making lot of non-sense. At the right bottom, on side of the stool signed: J. Steen. Golden frame. At backside a stamp of seal: Galerie Sedelmeyer, Paris. Allegedly was 1768 in collection of Werman Rotterdam.
