Provenance
In June 1943, 60 boxes containing around 7,500 volumes were moved to Kynau Castle (the information about this location is contradictory, first it is called Künau near Grünberg, then Kuhnau Castle, but it is probably Kynau in the district of Waldenburg, today Zagorze Slaskie), which contained the most valuable part of the Göritz-Lübeck Foundation, the Friedlaender Collection (12 boxes), the Jacobsen Collection and the Werther Collection (1 box). According to a report dated 2 May 1945, the salvaged items are said to have been transported away.
