Coin tankard

Tankard with figural handle and three rows of 12 thalers on the body as well as one row of 14 and 18 smaller silver coins, respectively, on the the foot and lid; all silver coins are mounted "à jour" and gilded on the inside of the vessel; the gilded gaps between the coins on the surface are decorated with wrought and chased strapwork ornaments, palmettes and flower baskets; the incorporated coins are mostly Saxonian thalers from the years 1531, 1558, 1563 and 1573; the other thalers are coinages from the 17th century, the latest date from the year 1656.
