Provenance

The claimant’s parents left Vienna for France by order of the Gestapo on August 8, 1938 and stored their furniture, artworks and other valuables with the Vienna warehouse Adolf Stern II at Rueppgasse 11. The storage company was subsequently "Aryanized" and taken over by Metropol-Spedition Alexander Pötchichimin(?) at Franz Josefs Kal 19. The family's property was then confiscated by the Gestapo (Vugesta, I. Bauernmarkt 4) as enemy property on May 27, 1941.
