The statue was acquired by Ernst Grosse from the Hayashi Tadamasa Collection; at the beginning of the 20th century it passed into the Breuer Collection, Berlin; 1929 (ca.) Ostasiatica Collection Dr. A. Breuer, Berlin; 1929 (ca.) - 1942 Ostasiatica Collection Herbert Ginsberg, Berlin; in 1942 large parts of the Ginsberg Collection in Rotterdam were confiscated by the Sicherheisdienst (SD); whereabouts unknown
