Description
Shape:
So-called ginger jar; footless, oval body with horizontal shoulder; short neck; flat cover without knob.
Décor:
White reserves with gold borders on blue ground; rectangular fields with indented corners above the base; fan-shaped fields on the shoulder and two large round fields on the body; floral famille verte style decoration in the fields; the central illustration shows a rock formation with growing peony branches and a flying phoenix above; at the top of the cover a round field with densely painted golden floral ornamentation; finely painted golden tendrils and flowers on the base of the outside and the cover; golden wave border around the edge of the cover.
Manufacturer's mark: underglaze blue double ring
