Description
1 chandelier with 80 light bulbs made of gilded bronze and cut crystals from Baccarat in the Louis XV style. 4500 (Saxon State Archives Dresden, 10010 House Marshal's Office, file 76, folio 72a); hangings by Baccara, Nancy
Provenance
Dresden Castle, 2nd floor north wing, stucco hall; In inventory list no. 1 dated January 31, 1920, as part of the settlement agreement between the Free State of Saxony and the former royal house of 1924, a large bronze chandelier with glass pendants, is is listed for the stucco hall, which is marked in red as belonging to the state; The exact date of removal is not on record, but the removal measures were completed in the summer of 1944. The chandelier was probably transported to its relocation site at Rammenau Castle on April 26, 1944. Nothing is known about the circumstances surrounding the loss of this object.It is assumed that the object was lost in connection with the events of the Second World War.
