Description
Copy after the original in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (inventory no. M.79.63) - with the addition of two cupids and the thyrsos which Bacchus holds in the crook of his arm.
Provenance
From the collection of duke Frederick IV of Saxe Gotha-Altenburg (cf. 1826 inventory). In 1943 still present in the Friedenstein Palace library (catalog 1943, p. 532), since then whereabouts unknown.
