Städtisches Klinikum Magdeburg

The origins of Magdeburg Municipal Hospital date back to the 18th century. After various extensions, the facility was opened in 1817 as the ‘Magdeburg Old Town Hospital’.

The library had a comprehensive collection of medical literature and books on related disciplines. The main collection was transferred to the Magdeburg City Library around 1910 (see search notice ‘Magdeburg City Library’). Only a small part remained as reference libraries for the surgical and internal medicine departments at the hospital, where it continued to grow.
