History
The library of the Reformed parish was compiled by its first preacher, Butendach. The library holdings of the Lübeck City Library were moved to Plömnitz in approximately 370 crates in 1942 and 1944, together with valuable prints from the Butendach congregation, were moved to Plömnitz in around 370 crates, where they were confiscated in 1946 by the Soviet Military Administration of Saxony-Anhalt (SMA-S-A) and initially taken to Nizhny Novgorod on the Volga. From there, the cultural assets were distributed to various Russian libraries and institutes.
