Description
So-called "Seewiefkes Clock" or "Sea Woman Clock". The clock is a Frisian chair clock with a brass clockwork with spindle escapement, pendulum and chain hoist. The case consists of a wooden back wall, a wooden cover with an indented arch and a dial plate framed by decorations. The back wall is decorated on the side with two mermaids cut out of a wooden board and painted. The cover is faced with decorations cast in metal, which also frame the dial. The dial is painted with Roman numerals and is crowned by two putti holding a garland of flowers.
