Two-piece back cut from the mirror, top made of symmetrically joined, unevenly grown spruce with annual rings of 0.8 to 1 mm. The sides and the two-piece back are made of maple cut from the mirror, with varying widths of flame grain, while the unflamed maple scroll shows dark mirrors. Top made of symmetrically joined, unevenly grown spruce with annual rings of 0.8 to 1 mm. Narrow curves merge into a wide coving, which is more pronounced at the bottom. Edge and corners strongly curved. Scallop slightly undercut, circular, with twisted edges and asymmetrical ears; the centre line is still visible. The ff holes are large and open with relatively small dot holes. The ebony inlays are strongly and cleanly executed. The varnish is fiery reddish brown on a dark golden brown background with a greasy sheen – only partially preserved in the brackets and mouldings. Significant signs of wear in the usual places. The plate and two corners were added later. All essential components belong together. A clear growth irregularity (bottom right) and two wooden pins at the top and bottom are visible on the base.
