Description

Round picture format (tondo): The angels are looking after a small stem in a large pot: one is watering it, the other is cutting off a bare branch;

Recto: signed and dated on the pot in black: "18EB [ligated] 68"; verso: top edge in pencil: "...", next to it in pencil: "E. Bendemann EB [ligated] gez"; top right corner in pencil, then erased: "N...ch / E12 [or ER]" [illegible]; centre stamp SGSM 17/ Lugt no. L 1094b with inventory number; lower right dry stamp round (DM approx. 20 mm), crown in the centre, inscription "[...] PAPER [...]";

Passepartout mask: embossed print in brown, "1934:60" under the cut-out on the right; centre: "EDUARD BENDEMANN"; below in the centre embossed stamp SGSM 19; at the bottom centre in pencil: "106" (portfolio number).
