In 1962, the Lower Saxony State Museum in Hanover received the tapestry back from British Wehrmacht stocks. The owner could not be identified, so that the carpet is described as a "presumably ownerless piece from the occupation period". It came to the Landtag in 1962 and was hung in the Portikushalle in 1976.
