Description
Horizontally oval relief-medallion. Depicted is the deposition of Christ with many expressively moved figures. The corpse of Christ is lowered from the cross by assistants that are standing on two ladders as well as by assistants that are bend over the arms of the cross. At the bottom of the cross Maria has fainted. Persons in dismay hurry over to her. On three sides of the cross are cartouches.

around 1954 death of the pastor, transfered to private property, Beckum
1979: Donation from private property, Beckum to the Domkammer of the Cathedral St. Paulus, Münster
The object was stolen by a german soldier from a russian museum. There is no more detailed information about the museum, the solider or the date. The soldier gave the object to a pastor in Beckum after his return to Germany. After the death of the pastor the object was kept by a private person for 25 years and then was donated to the museum in 1979.
