Purchased by the art dealer Julius Böhler, Munich, on 19.9.1939 for 2,500 RM. The Art dealer Julius Böhler acquired this painting from Rudolf Leitner, Vienna, for 1,000 RM. (Cf. Rudolf Leitner, Vienna, *14.3.1867, was, according to his own statement, an academic painter and Yugoslav citizen. He was married to Marie Leitner, * 14.3.1867, née Bondy. Rudolf Leitner was of Jewish origin and had to report his assets or sales to the Vermögensverkehrsstelle in Vienna. He sold the above mentioned paintings a few months before his emigration to Lausanne/Switzerland.
