Description
Half-length figure of a young gentleman, looking to the left, with a powdered wig and horizontal sidelocks. As a red-gold robe, open velvet skirt. Under the open skirt, a white, gold knitted vest on it a Cross of Merit with ribbon and crown.
Provenance
1787 creation of the painting by the artist. 1998 mention of the painting "Fürst Schwarzenberg" in the collection / privately owned Blumauer (Vienna). 1940 Purchase of the painting through the Gallery Zinckgraf by the seller Otto Schatzker, Vienna. 1940 Purchase of the painting by the Chancellery of the Galerie Zinkgraf for 15000.- RM. 1945 acquisition of the painting from the former depot "Linz" München, Arcisstraße 101 in the CCP Munich. Registry under number Mü. 7593. 1962 handover in the departmental assets of the Foreign Ministry for the furnishing of the ambassador's residence in Tunis. 2014 acquisition of the painting in the Equipment Storage Berlin of Foreign Office. The provenance research is completed. There are no indications that a NS - suggest persecution-related assets loss. However, because of gaps in the provenance history due to persecution asset loss can not be completely ruled out.
