Description
Battle scene, young naked and muscular man with cloak (blowing in the wind, inflating at the back) dynamically points his bow downwards at a dragon/sea monster whose head emerges from a lake, man reaches behind him with his right hand to fetch arrow and string it into the bow

Auction at Rudolph Lepke's auction house, Berlin, on 14 March 1905, sale to "Greve"; probably during the war, at the latest since 9 July 1945 until today Lippische Landesbibliothek Detmold, initially handed over in trust by the British Military Government Detmold, since 20 July 1945 officially handed over for safekeeping.
