Description
The third stage decoration shows the forecourt of the temple of Vesta at night - a rhythmic architecture with pillars at the sides that extends far into the depths. The statue of the goddess Vesta in a flowing robe stands in the centre of the engraving, which is designed as a simultaneous scenic depiction.
