Description
From the panoramic terrace of the elegant hotel ‘Rainvilles Gasthof’ on the Elbe slope near Altona, there is a picturesque view of the Elbe. A woman with three children is standing next to a park bench on the terrace. She has turned her back to the viewer and is looking towards the two older children standing to her right. She is carrying a small child in her arms, who is holding on to her shawl and, like the other two, is looking directly at the viewer.
The sitters are fashionably dressed in the style of the 1830s. Back: Sticker from the MHG with dates of the painting and inv. no. of the MHG in red
