Description
With pencil designated "Erich Wolfsfeld" at the bottom right. In the lower left corner on the front of the sheet note "20. Galizischer Jude". Under passe-partout typewritten with the title of the work on the left and the artist's name on the right. Catalogue of Works: Furness 45.
Provenance
transferred in September 1943 by the OFP Hessen in Darmstadt to the Painting Gallery and the Museum of Antiquities of the City of Mainz, tax office identification number: M. St. 88/851. Probably confiscated by the Mainz tax office in September 1942 after the deportation of the owners. The identity of the owner (presumably a Mainz collector specializing in prints of the Berlin Secession and the 1920s) has not yet been clarified.
