Inscribed in the motif upper right "CBerghem Delineavit [C and B monogrammed]/C. Visscher f.";
In the centre of the picture a herdsman on horseback (back view) with cattle running alongside, approaching him a woman with a dog holding a stick in her left hand and a sack under her right arm, in the background a ruin of a tower on a rock.
