Description
Landscape, two men on a punt (hat, simple clothes, stick to move the boat) with cow, punt on a canal, cows (lying and standing) on a meadow/pasture, on the left a piece of fence and a gnarled tree, in the background architecture (church tower) cow on a ferry, with herdsman/peasant and ferryman
Provenance
Possibly part of the auction of the Dr. M. Waldeck collection; auction at Amsler & Ruthard on 14 February 1887 and the following days, sale to "Pot"; auction at Rudolph Lepke's auction house, Berlin, on 14 March 1905, sale to "Greve"; probably during the war, at the latest since 9 July 1945 until today Lippische Landesbibliothek Detmold, initially handed over in trust by the British Military Government Detmold, since 20 July 1945 officially handed over for safekeeping.
