Purchased in February 1941 in a bundle with 27 other engravings for a total of 193 RM from the antiquarian bookshop Diepenbroick-Grüter & Schulz in Hamburg. Previously until an unknown date in the collection of the merchant Alfred Misch (1878), last resident at Mommsenstraße 23 in Berlin. He was deported in 1942, a loss due to Nazi persecution is possible.
