Description
In the trunk of the cross above the Trinity; in the crossbar from the left Mary Magdalene, the Mother of God, Christ on the cross, John Theologos and the captain Longinus; below in the trunk of the cross the guardian angel.
Provenance
Russia. Purchased probably in 1957 from Ernst Röttger (Kassel). The correspondence mentions a painted wooden cross, which must be the present piece; however, no previous owner is noted in the inventory.
