Courting scene
Group of figures in a farmhouse parlour. In the centre of the painting is a table with a white cover. Six people are gathered around it, including a seated man on the left side of the table in a back view, and behind him two peasant women and a peasant who, facing each other, are engaged in a lively discussion. On the right edge of the table is a young couple looking over at the older ones. In the background on the left is a door, on the right edge of the picture a window. In front of it is a chest of drawers on which a hat is lying.
The work is signed "F. D.", but not dated. It is assumed that it was painted in the 1890s.
The following indications can be taken from the reverse [according to the Property Card]: in blue bold crayon "11033" (Mü-Nr.); in black "K176" (Kremsmünster); white label with perforated border in blue "1117/795" (Linz-Nr.).
