Monogrammed and dated ‘N-B/1826’ on the lower right.
Provenance
The painting was purchased on 8 November 1938 for 125 RM. According to a statement from the art shop Eugen Brüschwiler, Munich, in September 1938, the painting came from an estate. He was able to achieve a reduction in the purchase price of 180 RM to 140 RM for the painting with the owners or beneficiaries of the estate.
