Provenance
... - ... - ... production of the 10 gold and 52 silver coins | ... - ... - ... - ... - ... Jewish previous possessions ("from Jewish property levies") | ... - .02/03/1941 Deutsche Reichsbank Berlin | .02/03.1941 - 2019 Städtisches Museum Braunschweig (On 26 February 1941, the then director of the Städtisches Museum Braunschweig, Wilhelm Jesse, selected the coins at the invitation of the Reichsbank in Berlin. According to the Reichsbank, the coins originated "from Jewish property levies". On 6 March 1941, the Reichsbank sent the selected coins to Braunschweig. On 25 March 1941, the purchase sum of 352.00 Reichsmark was instructed to be paid into the specified account of the "Städtische Pfandleihanstalt [Berlin] Nr. 16/32400 bei der Berliner Stadtbank, Girokasse 61". The coins are only listed as a bundle in the museum's access book. The bundle was separated. The coins were classified individually and without inventory number in the system of the Numismatic Collection. A doubtless identification of the individual coins is not yet possible from the available information. The coins could possibly have come to the Reichsbank in connection with the "Leihausaktion" 1939 - 1941 ["Judenablieferungen"]).
