The relocation sites are all located in what later became the Soviet Occupation Zone. It is not known exactly whether the relocated holdings were distributed among libraries in this area or transported to the Soviet Union. Parts of the relocated holdings that were returned in 1992 had been in the Soviet Union in the meantime and bear the ownership stamps of Soviet libraries.
