Description
13-piece miniature opal glass tableware with polychrome painted scatter flowers, a jug with handle, five cylindrical cups with coasters, four foot bowls, a vase and two almond-shaped bowls. This tableware probably dates back to the 19th century, probably to the Biedermeier period. It could have its origins in Lauscha or the Ore Mountains
Provenance
Formerly the Luckenwalde Local History Museum (inv no. VII.207). In April 1945, during the battle for the town, the museum building was destroyed and subsequently looted; only a few objects could be salvaged. Presumably lost during the war.
