Description
Overdoor painting, depict ing a mountain landscape with waterfall, above a castle; in front a boy in the water along with 1 man and woman with 1 dog; carved poliment-gilded overdoor frame, so-called Thiel frame
Provenance
When the room was used as the study of King Johann (* 12.12.1801; † 29.10.1873, King from 1854), overdoor paintings by Thiele are documented in the room; Listed in inventory no. 1 of 31.01. 1920 as part of the settlement agreement between the Free State of Saxony and the former royal house of 1924, which were assigned to the state; In the specifications for salvage, Prof. Fichtner's report to the Reich governor on 27 December 1943 stipulates under point 6 the removal of the overdoors. The overdoors were removed to the relocation site at Zottewitz Castle near Priestewitz. According to the files, loss at the relocation site.
