Description

Two large mirrors with blue glass frames, on which numerous ornaments are painted in gold, framed with gilded brasses, together with a similar top on which there is a canopy and festoons.

Fire-gilded chiselled brass fittings. 2 large Venetian mirrors in glass bronze frames.

Dimensions refer to the single corner mascaron: (H) 40 x (W) 40 cm

Provenance
1719 until the war-related removal in 1942 furnishing of the Royal State Apartments (also 1st coffee room 504); in accordance with the 1924 settlement agreement, the mirrors were transferred to the Free State of Saxony; in 1944 mirrors and mirror parts and wall mirrors were removed from the Dresden Castle to a relocation site (Rammenau or Schleinitz Castle); Circumstances of loss unknown. A loss in connection with the events of the Second World War is assumed.
