Description
French style upholstered chair. Beech wood, carved and gilded. Upholstery with blue pressed plush cover.
Provenance
The chairs came into the hall after the conversion of the Grand Ballroom in 1880-1882. The Türpe company was commissioned on 25.04.1882 and the chairs were handed over to the Hausmarschallamt in two deliveries in August 1882. There is evidence that the chairs were in the Dresden Castle, north wing, 2nd floor, Great Ballroom in 1920; According to the settlement agreement of 1924, they fell to the Free State of Saxony; in 1944, the chairs were brought to a relocation site. The removal list of the Dresden Palace Administration for the Zottewitz Castle relocation site clearly shows 59 blue-green ballroom chairs. Loss at the relocation site cannot be ruled out.
