Description
The J. Steen depicts a kitchen with a fire in the cooker. Pots and bowls hang on the walls. In the centre is a long table with lots of food; behind it are stout men and women who are putting the food into their open mouths with their fingers. In the foreground, a fat man with a red waistcoat sits on a stool. The picture has extraordinarily beautiful and bright colours with lots of red. It was in a dark gold frame.

after 1918 Simon Cohn (1873-1936), Berlin; since 1936 Meta Cohn, née Löwenthal (1886-1942), Berlin; confiscated by the Nazis around 1942, probably by the Gestapo one day after Meta Cohn's deportation to Riga on 15 August 1942 from her flat; since then whereabouts unknown
