Description
This portrait shows the poet in great realism. The character of the face emphasises his expression. One sees the elaborate detail at the level of the clothing and the jacket. He is often mistaken for Chaim Soutine because of the hairstyle and the gravity of the character.
Provenance
Atelier Chana Orloff, Paris; after July 1942-1943 looting of the studio - a confiscation as a result of Nazi persecution is suspected; whereabouts unknown
