Portrait of a gentleman with a large moustache, bust portrait, the upper part of the body slightly turned to the left, the head to the right, the gaze staring into space in front of a dark background, dressed in an open, heavy jacket, underneath a waistcoat, light shirt and a bow tie [?]; the light hair sticking out above the ear.
Provenance
Old family property; before 1942 Wolfsburg Castle (until 1932 Gardelegen District, Province of Saxony; then Gifhorn District, Province of Hanover; today Wolfsburg City); then moved to the newly built Neumühle Castle near Tangeln, municipality of Beetzendorf in the Altmark District of Salzwedel, where it is located: "Study of the master of the house, main floor"; left behind in 1945 during the flight from Neumühle Castle before it was taken over by the Red Army; Neumühle Castle was assigned to the Soviet occupation zone and expropriated; whereabouts unknown
